I'm Finally Home
I never expected this situation to unfold. I have finally returned home, but things did not go according to plan. Upon arriving home on January 9th with my dog Bingo, he handled the flight well. My flight landed at 12:50 midnight, and my friends Christopher and Aj were there to greet me. I was overjoyed to see them. At the time, I was in a relationship with Aj, unaware of his true intentions. After they picked me up, we spent the night in a hotel room, where certain events occurred that I won't delve into. The following morning, I loaded my belongings into Aj's van, and Christopher left to rest for work. Once he departed, Aj and I remained in the van. As days passed, I continued to feel happy about being back home, but I started having peculiar dreams involving Aj, the meaning of which eluded me. The truth was revealed the next morning. Before heading to work, Aj shared devastating news with me. He had been communicating with another girl all along and planned to see her that weekend! Initially, I believed he was visiting family, but then I remembered that he had no family in Crawfordsville. He confessed that his feelings for me had changed since high school. I couldn't understand why he asked me out again if his feelings had changed and then proceeded to deceive me once more. Feeling upset, I asked Christopher to pick me up a day earlier than scheduled because I was going to his apartment anyway. I hastily gathered most of my belongings and headed to his place. He admitted that he knew about the situation but hesitated to disclose it to avoid hurting my feelings. I empathized with his predicament. I stayed with him for two weeks, during which I felt too despondent to do anything. Although Aj offered me a job, I couldn't fathom working with him after what had transpired. He now has a new girlfriend. The girl he had been talking to was involved in a situation he wanted no part of, so he ended things with her, only to start dating his coworker's cousin two days later. Regrettably, I had to return to his van, and given the winter weather, it was unbearably cold. Despite the challenge, I endured it until he gave me a three-day ultimatum to vacate and find alternative accommodation. Finding a place on such short notice seemed impossible. Instead of granting me the full three days, he decided to evict me the following day. Christopher mentioned a support center that could assist me in getting back on my feet, but I did not meet the criteria for their inpatient program. I felt a sense of relief and opted to spend the night in the van, only to be taken to a homeless shelter the next day. To my dismay, it was located in a dangerous area of downtown Indianapolis. Although the intention was for me to secure housing assistance, I felt terrified for my safety. I yearned to leave, but no one offered assistance. I believed my dog was safe at Aj's friend's grandmother's place, as he had assured me Bingo could stay indoors. However, after spending a night at the shelter, Christopher informed me that Bingo was with him. I was furious at Aj for breaking his promise to care for my dog and instead passing him off to Christopher. Since Christopher couldn't keep pets at his place, we spent the entire day searching for a temporary foster home for Bingo. Realizing I couldn't keep him with me, I reluctantly left Bingo with Aj until I could find a secure location for him and bid him a temporary farewell. However, events unfolded differently. I had only one day to secure a new home for Bingo. Christopher had planned to pick me up so we could drop off Bingo together, but I never got the chance to say goodbye to my dog as I urgently needed to leave. Frustrated with everyone, I confided in my mother, who offered to provide funds for a Lyft ride if I could find a place to stay. I contacted my friend Michael, who had previously offered me accommodation, albeit without my dog due to restrictions. I informed him that Bingo had found a new home, and he welcomed me to stay with him. Concerned for my safety in the shelter located in a perilous part of downtown, I asked Michael if I could move in immediately. He agreed, suggesting I meet him at Taco Bell, where his general manager permitted me to wait in the lobby. My mother sent the money for a Lyft, and I swiftly gathered my belongings, relieved to leave that distressing environment. Michael, who worked the night shift, got off around 3 a.m. We returned to his apartment, which was adorned with horror memorabilia, a shared interest that I didn't mind. As we caught up, I recounted the circumstances that led me to the shelter, and Michael expressed his disapproval of how I had been treated, offering me a place to stay for as long as needed. Grateful for his support, I inquired about a message Aj had sent him. Aj had warned Michael not to believe any fabricated stories I might tell, falsely claiming that I had a contagious disease due to my PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). Researching the condition, I discovered it was not contagious. After some time, we calmed down and watched a movie together. Subsequently, Michael shared a message with me via Messenger, which I couldn't view on my device, prompting me to look at his phone. It contained old messages referencing our past interactions and Aj's inquiries about my return home, suggesting his desire for a romantic relationship. Despite initial hesitation, I agreed to be his girlfriend, feeling a mix of happiness and nervousness, given my history of being deceived. I questioned Michael about the message and his beliefs, particularly concerning my PCOS. He responded by asking me to trust my instincts, then drew me closer, resulting in a tender kiss that filled me with joy. The following day, I met Michael's family, who warmly welcomed me as his girlfriend, complimenting my appearance and uplifting my spirits. Although I had doubts about my beauty, their kind words brought me happiness. Two weeks had passed since I moved in with Michael, and we decided to go shopping together. Simultaneously, I had an interview at Taco Bell and was hired immediately, which thrilled me. While at Walmart, Michael surprised me with a small bouquet of red flowers, a gesture that had never happened to me before. I felt elated to be with him, sensing that our relationship had the potential to endure.
